Anna Macquarrie - Sports Dietitian
Kia ora! I’m Anna, and a fellow age group Triathlete and former NZ rower.

My Qualifications:
NZ Registered Dietitian
MSc Health Science - Nutrition & Dietetics
SDA Sports Dietitian
ISAK Level 1 Anthropometrist
BSc Human Nutrition
My interest in all things nutrition related started during my rowing years in Wellington. Understanding how to fuel, recover and optimise performance with nutritional strategies led me to study Human Nutrition at Otago University, and then onto a Master’s degree in Health Science - Nutrition and Dietetics. My thesis in sports nutrition is around the use of nutrogenomics in athletes - one of the latest topics in the field!
Over the years, I’ve gained experience working with everyday exercisers and elite competitors. I am currently the Performance Dietitian for the Hurricanes, Poua, and the regional Black Ferns rugby hub and previously worked with the Central Pulse netball team.
I really am passionate about helping others work towards nutrition and lifestyle goals, and I have a focus on providing realistic and sustainable advice. I also love breaking through conflicting nutrition information. Moving on from rowing now, I’m enjoying competing as an age group Triathlete and enjoy also enjoy walking my dog.
